Role

Senior Transformation Strategist

Open Europe, Remote Strategy & Transformation Full-time Posted Oct 26, 2026

Role summary

Join a growing Series A AI technology company developing an enterprise operations platform for leading retail and consumer goods organizations.

As Senior Transformation Strategist, you'll work directly with senior business executives to identify untapped operational value, quantify opportunities, and turn strategic recommendations into actionable transformation roadmaps supported by AI technology.

This is not a traditional long-cycle consulting delivery role. You'll operate in shorter, high-impact engagements, combine analytical problem-solving with commercial ownership, and help customers identify successive opportunities for measurable operational improvement.

The ideal candidate has substantial experience in top-tier management consulting, particularly in retail or CPG, with a track record of owning measurable business outcomes and independently influencing executive stakeholders.

Important

  • Europe-based remote position with substantial customer-site travel, approximately 3–4 days per week.
  • At least two years at Engagement Manager, Project Leader, Principal, or equivalent responsibility level in top-tier consulting.
  • Minimum four retail or CPG-focused projects.
  • Demonstrated ownership of measurable revenue, margin, cost, or working-capital outcomes.
  • Experience with short-cycle due diligence, value creation, or portfolio operations.
  • Strong commercial capability and independent executive-level stakeholder engagement.
  • This is a commercially driven strategy and transformation role, not a purely technical or delivery-focused position.
  • Private equity portfolio experience, hands-on retail operating experience, and practical AI adoption are desirable.

Job description

We are looking for a Senior Transformation Strategist to help enterprise retail and consumer packaged goods (CPG) organizations identify, quantify, and unlock operational value through AI-powered transformation.

This is a commercially driven, hands-on strategy role for someone who combines top-tier management consulting experience, deep retail or CPG expertise, and the ability to influence executive stakeholders independently.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze retail and CPG operations to uncover opportunities across revenue, margins, costs, and working capital.
  • Develop financial business cases that quantify potential value and support investment decisions.
  • Own short, high-stakes problem-solving engagements involving due diligence, value creation, and operational transformation.
  • Translate operational challenges and identified value opportunities into actionable AI-enabled transformation roadmaps.
  • Build executive confidence and drive commercial discussions independently, without relying on senior partners to lead conversations.
  • Identify additional transformation opportunities after initial improvements have been delivered.
  • Collaborate with product and technical teams to connect business priorities with platform capabilities.
  • Travel regularly to customer sites to work directly with stakeholders.

Required Skills

  • Top-tier management consulting background, ideally McKinsey, BCG, or Bain, or a comparable high-caliber consulting environment.
  • At least two years operating at Engagement Manager, Project Leader, Principal, or equivalent responsibility level.
  • Minimum four consulting projects focused on retail or CPG.
  • Demonstrated ownership of measurable financial or operational outcomes, including revenue, margin, cost, or working capital.
  • Experience with short, high-stakes engagements such as commercial or operational due diligence, value creation, or portfolio operations.
  • Strong financial analysis and business case modelling skills.
  • Demonstrated commercial capability, including independently influencing and selling to senior executives.
  • Ability to communicate credibly with COOs, CFOs, and other executive decision-makers.
  • Willingness and ability to travel to customer sites approximately 3–4 days per week.

  • Experience building a startup, product, or independent business.
  • Active daily use of AI tools, with an ability to explain model selection and practical applications.
  • Experience connecting enterprise operational problems with AI-enabled solutions.

Soft Skills

  • Strong executive presence and commercial judgement.
  • Confidence in challenging senior stakeholders constructively.
  • Ability to structure ambiguous problems and reach decisions quickly.
