About the Role
Our client is building modern software for schools, starting with one of the most urgent challenges today: managing student phone usage.
They’ve already launched a mobile app and are now looking for a Senior Mobile Engineer to take ownership of the product and bring it to the next level. This role focuses on building a reliable, high-quality mobile experience that works seamlessly in real-world conditions.
You will work directly with the founders and play a key role in shaping the mobile product used daily in schools.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and develop the student-facing mobile application built with Flutter
- Implement advanced functionality using native iOS and Android code when needed
- Build and maintain push notification and background service infrastructure
- Optimize app performance considering real-world constraints (battery, OS limits, Doze mode)
- Collaborate with backend and full-stack engineers on APIs and shared systems
- Improve code quality, architecture, and long-term maintainability
Requirements
- 4+ years of mobile engineering experience
- Strong experience with Flutter
- Deep understanding of push notifications and background services
- Experience working with platform-level constraints on iOS and Android
- Proven ability to debug complex mobile issues in production environments
- Comfortable making architectural decisions and owning outcomes
- Experience working in fast-paced or early-stage environments
