Job description
We are looking for a Senior COBOL CICS DB2 Developer to support the maintenance, enhancement, and lifecycle management of existing mainframe applications.
The role focuses on working within a complex application landscape, analyzing and resolving incidents, implementing changes, executing work orders, and contributing to annual system modifications.
You will work closely with fellow developers, testers, and architects in an Agile/SCRUM environment. The position requires strong technical depth, collaboration skills, and the ability to quickly understand and contribute to an existing mainframe landscape.
Responsibilities
• Maintain and enhance COBOL, CICS and DB2 applications
• Develop and modify existing COBOL applications
• Analyze and resolve incidents within the application landscape
• Implement lifecycle changes and system modifications
• Execute technical work orders
• Support mainframe and document generation systems
• Work closely with developers, testers, and architects
• Contribute to Agile/SCRUM delivery processes
• Share technical knowledge with colleagues
• Support technical design and solution design activities
Required Skills
• Minimum 10 years of proven experience with COBOL, CICS, DB2 and JCL
• Strong experience in mainframe application development
• Experience developing and modifying COBOL applications
• Experience working in Agile environments
• Knowledge of technical design and solution design
• Bachelor’s or Master’s level working and thinking ability
• Ability to work independently in complex application environments
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong collaboration and communication skills
