About the Role
Our client is a fast-growing, profitable telehealth company focused on performance medicine, helping users optimize their health through content, community, and clinical support.
They are looking for a Lead Engineer (Tech Lead) to lead their Growth Engineering team. This role combines hands-on development with team leadership, focusing on optimizing the customer acquisition funnel and driving measurable business impact.
You will own the full acquisition funnel, from initial user interaction through checkout, and play a key role in improving conversion while maintaining strong user retention.
Your Impact
- Own and optimize the full acquisition funnel (flow start to checkout)
- Drive experiments that directly impact revenue and growth
- Balance conversion optimization with user retention and long-term value
- Build systems and processes that improve experimentation and learning over time
- Lead a team of engineers and elevate overall performance
Key Responsibilities
- Build and ship A/B experiments across signup flows, checkout, pricing, and recommendations
- Develop full-stack features using Ruby on Rails and React
- Lead and mentor a team of engineers through coaching, reviews, and 1:1s
- Design and execute experiments, including metrics, sample sizes, and trade-offs
- Improve and maintain experimentation infrastructure
- Collaborate with data teams to track retention and performance metrics
- Optimize payment systems and pricing architecture
- Drive adoption of AI-assisted development tools to improve team velocity
Tech Stack
- Ruby on Rails, React, TypeScript
- PostgreSQL, Redis
- Stripe and Klarna (payments)
- Amplitude and Segment (analytics & experimentation)
- AWS / GCP, Docker, CI/CD pipelines
- Cypress for testing
- AI tools such as Claude Code and similar
Requirements
- Experience leading engineering teams (4–8 engineers)
- Strong experience with growth-focused product development and experimentation
- Hands-on experience with Ruby on Rails and React (preferred)
- Ability to design, execute, and analyze experiments
- Strong understanding of funnels, conversion, and retention metrics
- Experience working with scalable backend systems and modern architectures
- Comfortable using AI tools in development workflows
- Strong communication and leadership skills
Nice to Have
- Experience in healthcare, wellness, or subscription-based products
- Familiarity with payment systems such as Stripe or Klarna
- Experience with experimentation platforms (Amplitude, Optimizely, etc.)
