Job description

We are looking for a Lead Distributed Data Platform Engineer to help build and scale modern lakehouse-based analytics platforms supporting enterprise-scale data and reporting initiatives.

You will combine deep technical expertise with leadership capabilities, helping guide platform strategy, architecture decisions, engineering best practices, and team development.

The role combines distributed systems engineering, lakehouse architecture, technical leadership, platform governance, stakeholder management, and large-scale analytics enablement.

Responsibilities
• Lead and mentor data platform engineering teams
• Drive architectural decisions for distributed data platforms
• Design scalable lakehouse solutions using Spark, Delta Lake, and Iceberg
• Build and optimize large-scale analytics workflows
• Implement CI/CD and automated testing practices
• Improve platform reliability, scalability, and cost efficiency
• Champion governance, observability, and compliance frameworks
• Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization
• Support self-service analytics initiatives
• Drive continuous improvement and engineering excellence

Required Skills
• Proven experience leading data engineering or platform teams
• Strong programming skills in Python and SQL
• Hands-on Apache Spark experience
• Expertise in Delta Lake and/or Apache Iceberg
• Experience with Databricks, dbt, and Snowflake
• Strong understanding of CI/CD and automated testing
• Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and Infrastructure-as-Code tools
